Mortality is ore of the major determinants of population growth and its modernization is being blamed for the rapid expulsion of population in Africa. And yet measurements of mortality levels are trends are still inadequate in that region of world, due largely to the lack of reliable and animate information on deaths, over, a series of estimates depicting mortality levels and trends have been prepared by demographer using different lines of data and employing different estimation procedure.
