This document is a summary report of the activities related to the advancement of women in Africa that have been implemented by the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA) between April 1994 and April 1995. The report will be reviewed by the Africa Regional Coordinating Committee for the Integration of Women in Development (ARCC) at its sixteenth annual meeting which will be held in Addis Ababa in April 1995. The first part of the report will focus on activities related to the implementation of resolutions on the advancement of women adopted by the ECA Conference of Ministers Responsible for Economic and Social Development at its twentieth meeting. The second part of the report will address other activities carried out by ECA within the work programme of the current biennium. Finally, the last part will highlight the orientation of the activities planned for the biennium 1996-1997.
