On 3 June 1991 the Heads of State and Government of the Organization of African Unity (OAU) signed in Abuja-Nigeria, the Treaty establishing the African Economic Community. On 15 April 1994 the Final Act Embodying the Results of the Uruguay Round of the Multilateral Trade Negotiation of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) was signed in Marrakesh-Morocco at the Ministerial Meeting of the Trade Negotiations Committee, after it was launched in September 1986 in Punta del Este-Uruguay. Subsequently on 12 May 1994 the Abaija.
