Report of the seventh session of the Conference of African Planners : Addis Ababa, 11-16 December 1978

Abstract

The seventh session of the Conference of African Planners was held at EGA headquarters in Addis Ababa from 11 to 16 December 1978. The session was opened by Mr. Simon M8 Mbilinyi, United Republic of Tanzania, who had been Chairman of the Conference at its sixth session. After the formal opening of the Conference, Mr. Adebeyo Adedeji, Executive Secretary of ECA pointed out that the agenda of the seventh session was both heavy and important in that it included several new topics over and above the normal agenda items. However, some of the studies which the secretariat had hoped to undertake in line with the recommendations of the sixth session had not been carried out because of insufficient time and resources.
