Section two examines both the endogenous and exogenous factors which contributed to Africa's declining share in world trade. Section three explores the implications for Africa resulting from the formation of economic-cum-trading blocks. Section four evaluates the potential impact on Africa's external trade stemming from the expected conclusion of the Uruguay Round of GATT negotiations. Finally, section five ventures some conclusions from the preceding analysis.
