The aim of this paper is to analyze Africa's current situation within the evolving global situation. It also recognizes that equally
profound changes are in train inside Africa, and that both types of changes simultaneously pose daunting challenges and offer exciting opportunities. Such analysis naturally points to how Africa can cope with the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities of the new world order.
