Abstract

This study is based on country replies to a questionnaire entitled "Regional Survey of Data Processing Capabilities and Requirements 1976/77" The new enquiry was intended to be a systematic one developed to bring up to date and maintain a running record of all relevant facts The scope was therefore more comprehensive than any made previously The questionnaire was sent to 50 countries but at the time of writing replies have been received from only 22 (see table 1 annexed hereto) out of which 5 countries stated that they did not process any computers but two envisaged installations tone form or another KDP facilities in the near future. Due to the rather low response rate information available and relating to non-participating countries. in the enquiry is included in the document.
