Statements expressing gratitude to the Government of the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, and on the success of the Symposium were made by the Heads of delegation of Zambia, Zaire, the Comoro Islands, the Cape Verde Islands, Uganda, Liberia, Ethiopia, the Ivory Coast and by the representative of OAU. As a conclusion to the work of the Symposium, the Chairman recalled the seriousness of the economic and political problems facing the African region and emphasized the
importance of the contribution which the implementation of the Action Programme could
make in finding a solution to these problems.
