Abstract
This paper aims at evaluating the results of the Fourth Session of UHCTAD from the standpoint of African countries, of which no less than 46 participated actively in its deliberations, almost all at ministerial level. At this, stage, such an .exercise can only be of a preliminary nature. This is so not so much because the' full official report of the meeting is not yet out, although this is regrettable enough, but more importantly because, with respect to the more significant resolutions, it has become quite clear that their real import will not be apparent before the next few months.
