Abstract
The aim of the publication is to assist member States in identifying and disseminating best practices in the thematic area of good governance, with particular emphasis on the effectiveness of the judiciary in fighting corruption. It is also intended to facilitate and promote dialogue, international cooperation and technical assistance for preventing and combating corruption in Africa. The publication contains examples of best practices from African countries on fight ing corruption, as well as lessons learned from international and regional commitments. In particular, it addresses issues related to constraints on law enforcement institutions in investigating cases of corruption; corruption challenges within the judiciary itself; inefficiency or lack of independence of judges; qualification challenges and financial constraints facing the judiciary
