This document provides a progress report on the activities of the African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP) under the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (ECA). It highlights IDEP's efforts in capacity development, training, and policy research to support African countries in achieving the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and Agenda 2063. Key initiatives include training programs on risk management, gender-responsive economic policies, and trade under the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). The report also addresses IDEP's financial challenges, partnerships, and the evaluation of its 2019–2023 strategic plan, emphasizing the need for enhanced funding and strategic foresight to build resilient economies. Prospects for 2024 focus on integrating social protection into development planning and strengthening financial stability through increased contributions and resource mobilization.
