Abstract
The "2023 Africa Sustainable Development Report" assesses the progress of African countries in implementing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the African Union's Agenda 2063. It highlights the impact of global crises, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the war in Ukraine, on Africa's development trajectory. The report covers key Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) including clean water and sanitation (Goal 6), affordable and clean energy (Goal 7), industry, innovation, and infrastructure (Goal 9), sustainable cities and communities (Goal 11), and partnerships for the goals (Goal 17). It emphasizes the need for accelerated action to achieve these goals by 2030, addressing challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, limited access to clean energy, and the need for enhanced data and statistical capacity. The report also underscores the importance of international cooperation, capacity-building, and sustainable financing to support Africa's development.
