Abstract
Financial support for mitigation and adaptation in developing countries is a ‘make or break’ component of a United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) agreement in Copenhagen in December 2009. In light of this, several proposals to generate new funds are being put forward to the UNFCCC to raise the resources needed to respond to this global crisis. The policy brief is intended to inform ministers, policy-makers, and negotiators of the climate change finance debate, to present different funding options for consideration and to make recommendations on the way forward.
