Using the 2019/20 Uganda National Household Survey (UNHS), this paper assesses multidimensional poverty, inequality, and vulnerability in Uganda's agrarian communities. The study employs the livelihoods framework to guide the selection of dimensions and indicators used to compute both the MPI and the squared count measure. Findings reveal variations in deprivations and inequalities across regions and sub-regions. Generally, the western region is less deprived, with low inequalities compared to the northern region. Varied deprivations across indicators and sub-region scall for different interventions even for sub-regions within the same region. The study advocates the Alkire-Foster method guided by the livelihood’s framework as an effective way of both identifying poor households and targeting poverty reduction in agrarian communities.en
