This paper analyzes gender strategies in Africa’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) to address climate change, focusing on women’s vulnerability in key sectors like water, energy, agriculture, and health. Over 85% of African NDCs reference gender, with West Africa leading at 41%. The study highlights women’s coping mechanisms, environmental knowledge, and the need for empowerment through education, training, and access to resources to reduce climate risks and enhance adaptation and mitigation efforts.en
