The present report includes a presentation of the progress in Africa of the implementation of the 2008 System of National Accounts and the System of Environmental-Economic Accounting since the eighth session of the Statistical Commission for Africa. The report covers the period from October 2022 until June 2024 and includes a discussion of the main initiatives planned for the coming period. The report offers an overview of the activities undertaken in relation to the implementation and development of the 2008 System of National Accounts and the developments in the following areas: Implementation of the 2008 System of National Accounts and rebasing gross domestic product (GDP); Updates and the 2025 System of National Accounts; Quarterly national accounts; System of Environmental-Economic Accounting; International Comparison Programme; Price statistics and alternative approaches to the collection of consumer price index (CPI) data; Compilation of supply and use tables and trade in value added statistics.
