In keeping with the decennial cycle, the date planned by the Bureau of Statistics (BOS) for the next census is April 1986. A major problem, however, is that although a request for government funding was submitted in time, BOS have not received a census budget for the current financial year, April 1984 to March 1985. This means that the project is now behind schedule, and it will be difficult p amongst other things. for a pilot census to be held in April 1985. During the Regional Adviser's previous mission, BOS indicated that they wished to set up a census Cartographic Units, and equipment, personnel. and training requirement
were discussed. The mission ended with separate round up meetings with the Deputy Resident, Representative, the UNFPA Program management Officer and the Director of BOS. The Regional Adviser briefed them on the findings of the mission.
