Abstract
The mission was undertaken from 27 September - 13 October 1988 at the request of the Government of Mauritius and the United Nations Population Fund ( UNFPA). Its terms of reference which were Communicated to ECA by cable MISC 577 of 13 July 1988 from the Resident Representative of the United Nations development Programme (UNDP) in Port Louis were as follow: to prepare a comprehensive project document to cover the 1990 census project, with particular attention to building census data processing capability within the Central Statistical Office, including training related thereto.
