Back-to-office report :national workshop on governance accountability and transparency in Zambia Lusaka, 21 April, 1998

Abstract

The National Workshop on Accountability and Transparency in Zambia was organized by the National Economic Advisory Council on 21 April, 1998. It was officially opened by the Minister of Legal Affairs. Participants were drawn from a very wide cross section of the Zambian opinion makers in: politics, academia, government, judiciary, press, law enforcement , civil society, business and religious organizations. UNDP and ECA were the only UN agencies which took part in the Workshop. The Workshop was organized as part of preparation for the Second African Governance Forum (AGFII) to be held in Accra, Ghana, in June 1998. The AGF is supported by UNDP and ECA; AGFI was held in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
