The period between 1960 and 1980 witnessed most countries in Africa gaining independence from their erstwhile colonial masters. These political achievements marked important changes in the social, economic, cultural and traditional developments which exerted tremendous implications on health of the people throughout Africa region and within newly independent countries, themselves.
