COVID-19 Situation Report : 03 January 2022

Abstract

Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) update. 03 February 2022. The Omicron variant has been detected in Ethiopia, 334 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported in the last 24 hours (positivity rate of 4.8%) bringing the total confirmed cases to 466,126 as of 03 February 2022. 7 new deaths reported adding to total 7,353 deaths reported since the beginning of the outbreak with a case fatality rate of 1.58%. 400,013 (85.8%) cases have recovered; however, 534 confirmed cases are undergoing treatment in treatment centers of which 237 are severe. 7,009 RT-PCR and Ag-RDT tests were conducted in the last 24 hours, giving a cumulative 4,367,909 RT-PCR and Ag-RDT tests conducted. 58,758 total active cases and 494 recovered and discharged on the same day. A total 10,975,194 vaccine doses administered, and 9,372,107 people have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
