COVID-19 Situation Report: 08 Oct 2021

Abstract

Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) update. 10 Oct 2021. Ethiopia reported 921 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours with a positivity rate of 10.9% giving a total 353,425 confirmed cases as of 08 October 2021. 33 new deaths reported adding to total 5,921 deaths reported since the beginning of the outbreak with a Case Fatality Rate is 1.68%. 321,695 (91.0%) cases have recovered, however 1,283 confirmed cases are undergoing treatment in the treatment centers of which 745 are in severe condition In the last 24 hours, 8,415 RT-PCR and Ag-RDT tests were conducted giving a cumulative 3,540,107 RT-PCR and Ag-RDT tests conducted. 25,807 total active cases and 1,706 recovered and discharged on the same day. Global: 236,599,025 new cases; 4,831,486 deaths and case fatality. Africa: 8,382,743 new cases; 213,574 deaths and case fatality.
