COVID-19 Situation Report: 10 Oct 2021

Abstract

Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) update. 10 Oct 2021. Ethiopia reported 443 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours with a positivity rate of 8.3% giving a total 354,476 confirmed cases as of 10 October 2021. 40 new deaths reported adding to total 5,990 deaths reported since the beginning of the outbreak with a Case Fatality Rate is 1.69%. 323,505 (91.3%) cases have recovered, however 1,336 confirmed cases are undergoing treatment in the treatment centers of which 745 are in severe condition. In the last 24 hours, 5,352 RT-PCR and Ag-RDT tests were conducted giving a cumulative 3,551,983 RT-PCR and Ag-RDT tests conducted. 24,979 total active cases and 1,492 recovered and discharged on the same day. Global: 237,196,253 new cases; 4,840,189 deaths and case fatality. Africa: 8,387,602; new cases; 214,160 deaths and case fatality.
