COVID-19 Situation Report: 31 August 2021

Abstract

Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) update. 31 August 2021: Ethiopia reported 1,324 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours giving a total 308,134 confirmed cases as of 31 August 2021. A total of 4,675 deaths have been reported since the beginning of the outbreak with a Case Fatality Rate is 1.52%. 276,842 (89.8%) cases have recovered, however 941 confirmed cases are undergoing treatment in the treatment centers of which 630 are in severe condition. In the last 24 hours, 8,430 RT-PCR and Ag-RDT tests were conducted giving a cumulative 3,239,416 RT-PCR and Ag-RDT tests conducted. Global: 216,867,420 new cases; 4,507,337 deaths and case fatality. Africa: 7,794,416 new cases; 196,675 deaths and case fatality.
