COVID-19 Situation Report: 26 August 2021

Abstract

Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) update. 26 August 2021: Ethiopia reported 1,621 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours giving a total 301,713 confirmed cases as of 26 August 2021. A total of 4,606 deaths have been reported since the beginning of the outbreak with a Case Fatality Rate is 1.53%. 271,819 (90.1%) cases have recovered, however 859 confirmed cases are undergoing treatment in the treatment centers of which 561 are in severe condition. In the last 24 hours, 10,620 RT-PCR and Ag-RDT tests were conducted giving a cumulative 3,200,770 RT-PCR and Ag-RDT tests conducted. Global: 213,752,662 new cases; 4,459,381 deaths and case fatality. Africa: 7,620,106 new cases; 191,818 deaths and case fatality.
