Abstract
Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) update. 05 August 2021. Ethiopia reported 687 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours giving a total 282,498 confirmed cases as of 5 August 2021. A total of 4,406 deaths have been reported since the beginning of the outbreak with a Case Fatality Rate is 1.56%. 264,165 (93.5%) cases have recovered, however 393 confirmed cases are undergoing treatment in the treatment centers of which 270 are in severe condition. In the last 24 hours, 7,598 RT-PCR and Ag-RDT tests were conducted giving a cumulative 3,048,353 RT-PCR and Ag-RDT tests conducted. 13,925 total active cases and 157 recovered and discharged on the same day. Global: 200,174,883 new cases; 4,255,892 deaths and case fatality. Africa: 6,922,332 new cases; 174,838 deaths and case fatality.
