COVID-19 Situation Report: 03 August 2021

Abstract

Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) update. 03 August 2021. Ethiopia reported 467 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours giving a total 281,300 confirmed cases as of 3 August 2021. A total of 4,395 deaths have been reported since the beginning of the outbreak with a Case Fatality Rate is 1.56%. 263,885 (93.8%) cases have recovered, however 356 confirmed cases are undergoing treatment in the treatment centers of which 283 are in severe condition. In the last 24 hours, 6,297 RT-PCR and Ag-RDT tests were conducted giving a cumulative 3,034,839 RT-PCR and Ag-RDT tests conducted. 13,018 total active cases and 191 recovered and discharged on the same day. Global: 198,778,175 new cases; 4,235,559 deaths and case fatality. Africa: 6,815,341 new cases; 172,836 deaths and case fatality.
