Abstract
Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) update. 1 August 2021: Ethiopia reported 200 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours giving a total 280,565 confirmed cases as of 1 August 2021. A total of 4,390 deaths have been reported since the beginning of the outbreak with a Case Fatality Rate is 1.56%. 263,587 (94.0%) cases have recovered, however 325 confirmed cases are undergoing treatment in the treatment centers of which 240 are in severe condition. In the last 24 hours, 4,547 RT-PCR and Ag-RDT tests were conducted giving a cumulative 3,023,600 RT-PCR and Ag-RDT tests conducted. Global: 198,234,951 new cases; 4,227,359 deaths and case fatality. Africa: 6,755,192 new cases; 171,187 deaths and case fatality.
