COVID-19 Situation Report: 16 July 2021

Abstract

Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) Update. 16 July 2021. Ethiopia reported 93 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours giving a total 277,536 confirmed cases as of 16 July 2021. A total of 4,352 deaths have been reported since the beginning of the outbreak with a Case Fatality Rate is 1.57%. 262,237 (94.5%) cases have recovered, however 224 confirmed cases are undergoing treatment in the treatment centers of which 129 are in severe condition. In the last 24 hours, 5,787 RT-PCR and Ag-RDT tests were conducted giving a cumulative 2,946,793 RT-PCR and Ag-RDT tests conducted. 10,945 total active cases and 31 recovered and discharged on the same day. Global: 188,655,968 new cases; 4,067,517 deaths and cases fatality. Africa: 6,161,888 new cases; 156,507 deaths and case fatality.
