COVID-19 Situation Report: 08 July 2021

Abstract

Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) Update. 08 July 2021. Ethiopia reported 116 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours giving a total 276,799 confirmed cases as of 08 July 2021. A total of 4,341 deaths have been reported since the beginning of the outbreak with a Case Fatality Rate is 1.57%. 261,817 (94.6%) cases have recovered, however 193 confirmed cases are undergoing treatment in the treatment centers of which 123 are in severe condition. In the last 24 hours, 4,964 RT-PCR and Ag-RDT tests were conducted giving a cumulative 2,904,227 RT-PCR and Ag-RDT tests conducted. 10,639 total active cases and 68 recovered and discharged on the same day. Global: 185,038,806 new cases; 4,006,882 deaths and case fatality. Africa: 5,827,269 new cases and 149,635 deaths and case fatality.
