COVID-19 Situation Report: 02 June 2021

Abstract

Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) update: 02 June. 2021. Ethiopia reported 246 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours giving a total 272,036 confirmed cases as of 02 June 2021. A total of 4,178 deaths have been reported since the beginning of the outbreak with a Case Fatality Rate is 1.54%. Majority of the cases (215,748) have been reported by Addis Ababa and Oromia regions constituting 79.3% of the national tally. 242,442 (89.12%) cases have recovered, however 597 confirmed cases are undergoing treatment in the treatment centers of which 377 are in severe condition. In the last 24 hours, 5,003 RT-PCR tests were conducted giving a cumulative 2,733,562 RT-PCR tests conducted. Africa: 4,867,727 confirmed cases; 4,404,608 recoveries and 131,414 deaths. Global: 406,970 new cases; 171,222,477 confirmed cases; 3,686,142 deaths; 1,581,509,628 vaccine doses.
