Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) Update. 22 May 2021. Ethiopia reported 381 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours giving a total 268,901 confirmed cases as of 21 May 2021. A total of 4,068 deaths have been reported since the beginning of the outbreak with a Case Fatality Rate is 1.51%. Majority of the cases (213,365) have been reported by Addis Ababa and Oromia regions constituting 79.3% of the national tally. 227,080 (84.45%) cases have recovered, however 894 confirmed cases are undergoing treatment in the treatment centers of which 513 are in severe condition. In the last 24 hours, 5,563 RT-PCR tests were conducted giving a cumulative 2,682,758 RT-PCR tests conducted. 37,751 total active cases and 1,600 recovered and discharged on the same day. Africa: 4,746,782 confirmed cases; 4,293,343 recoveries and 127,997 deaths. Global: 607,681 new cases; 165,772,430 confirmed cases; 3,437,545 deaths and 1,448,242,899 vaccine doses.
