Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) update. 22 April 2021. Ethiopia: 1,329 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative confirmed cases to 246,484 as of 21 April 2021 with 35 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours. A total of 3,474 deaths have been reported since the beginning of the outbreak with a Case Fatality Rate of 1.41%. Averagely, 1,726 cases per day and 32 deaths per day have been reported for the last 7 days which represents 6% decrease in cases and 14% increase in deaths compared to the previous 7 days. Two regions account for 80.1% of the cumulative cases nationally with Addis Ababa having 65.9% (162,149) and Oromia 14.2% (34,349). There have been 183,932 recoveries reported with 59,076 cases still active of which 1,059 are severe and critical cases. Africa: confirmed cases 4,460,119; recoveries 4,003,249 and 118,849. Global: vaccine doses 889,827,023; confirmed cases 142,557,268; new cases 793,011 and 3,037,398.
