Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) update. 21 April 2021. Ethiopia: 1,524 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative confirmed cases to 245,155 as of 20 April 2021 with 47 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours . A total of 3,439 deaths have been reported since the beginning of the outbreak with a Case Fatality Rate of 1.40%. On average 1,806 cases per day and 30 deaths per day have been reported for the last 7 days, representing 6% decrease in cases and 3% increase in deaths compared to the previous 7 days. Addis Ababa and Oromia account for 79.7% of the cumulative cases nationally with 65.8% (161,243) and 13.9% (34,161) respectively. There have been 181,935 recoveries reported with 59,779 cases still active of which 965 are severe and critical cases. A total of 7,346 RT-PCR tests were conducted in the last 24 hours (20.75% positivity rate) bringing the cumulative test conducted to 2,514,749 RT-PCR tests as of 20 April 2021. Africa: confirmed cases 4,447,656; recoveries 3,991,479 and deaths 118,541. Global: vaccine doses 843,1,58,196; Confirmed Cases 142,238,073; New cases 482,229 and Deaths 3,032,124.
