Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) update. 20 April 2021. Ethiopia: 1,603 new confirmed COVID-19 cases were reported in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative confirmed cases to 243,631 as of 19 April 2021 with 22 new deaths reported in the last 24 hours. A total of 3,392 deaths have been reported since the beginning of the outbreak with a Case Fatality Rate of 1.39%. On average 1,812 cases per day and 26 deaths per day have been reported for the last 7 days, representing 7% and 13% decrease in cases and deaths respectively compared to the previous 7 days. Addis Ababa and Oromia account for 79.7% of the cumulative cases nationally with 65.8% (160,332) and 13.9% (33,859) respectively. There have been 180,645 recoveries reported with 59,592 cases still active of which 972 are severe and critical cases. Africa: Confirmed Cases 4,429,822; Recoveries 3,967,060 and Deaths 117,913. Global: Vaccine doses 792,796,083; Confirmed Cases 141,057,106; New cases 724,720 and Deaths 3,015,043.
