Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) update: 13 March 2021. Ethiopia has reported 1,483 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours giving a total 174,054 confirmed cases as of 13 March 2021. A total of 2,540 deaths have been reported since the beginning of the outbreak with a Case Fatality Rate is 1.46%. Majority of the cases (136,689) have been reported by Addis Ababa and Oromia regions constituting 78.5% of the national tally. However, there is high uncertainty in Tigray region given that no surveillance activities have been carried out since 4 November 2020 and considering that there were hundreds of active cases by the start of the military operation in the area. Africa: 4,018,715 confirmed cases; 3,610,261 recoveries and 107,296 deaths. Global: 119,030,459 confirmed cases; 67,154,896 recoveries and 2,640,349 deaths.
