COVID-19 Situation Report: 30 March 2021

Abstract

Novel Corona Virus (COVID-19) update: 30 March 2021. Ethiopia: Ethiopia has reported 1,976 new confirmed COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours giving a total 204,521 confirmed cases as of 30 March 2021. A total of 2,841 deaths have been reported since the beginning of the outbreak with a Case Fatality Rate is 1.39%. Majority of the cases (163,153) have been reported by Addis Ababa and Oromia regions constituting 79.8% of the national tally. However, there is high uncertainty in Tigray region given that no surveillance activities have been carried out since 4 November 2020 and considering that there were hundreds of active cases by the start of the military operation in the area. Africa : 4,203,793 confirmed cases; 3,763,635 recoveries and 112,480 deaths. Global:520,540,106 vaccine doses; 127,619,612 confirmed cases ; 72,072,585 recoveries and 2,791,953 deaths.
