A study on the strategies for accessing African and non-African sources of data on African development
Abstract
The Executive Secretary of ECA instructed ECA-MRAG, at the meeting of ECA Programme Managers with held on 21 and 22 October, 1992, to undertake, amongst other things, a study on the appropriate strategies for accessing African and non-African sources of data on African development, so as to ensure that ECA as well as the Member States of ECA could make systematic, comprehensive and timely use of such data for in-depth socioeconomic analysis and planning and short-term intelligent decision making purposes, with the least duplication of efforts involved in data collection and processing.
