International cooperation, trade connectivity, and positioning are key strategies for Rwanda to promote economic and social transformation and become an upper middle-income country as envisaged by Rwanda’s Vision 2050 and its first medium term implementation Plan, the National Structural Transformation Plan. Under its pillar for economic transformation, seeks to promote industrial development, foster export development and trade infrastructure and to develop service led and knowledge-based economy. ECA has been working with to develop the Rwanda Economic Diplomacy Strategy. It is a blueprint that seeks to leverage diplomacy and foster greater synergy and systemic cooperation that promotes Rwanda’s economic interests and values globally. The strategy seeks to bring all diplomatic Representations of Rwanda abroad, to promote trade and investment opportunities to Rwanda, knowledge sharing, private sector development and technological development.
