There is a need for concerted action to address the very pronounced gender dimension of poverty in Africa. We must ensure that gender equality forms an integral part of Africa’s response to today’s and tomorrow’s development planning. Every effort must be made to tap into the global system of information and knowledge. We must build the capacity to use information technology to help us meet our development challenges.
