Abstract
This background paper focuses on the planet sub-theme of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This sub-theme aims to protect the planet from degradation through sustainable consumption and production, sustainably managing natural resources, and taking urgent action on climate change, so that the planet can sustain the needs of present and future generations – that is, attain sustainable life on land.
