Abstract
This document is aimed at providing guidelines for the development of national strategies for the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCTA) for the State Parties to the Agreement Establishing the African Continental Free Trade Area. These Guidelines were prepared by the Economic Commission for Africa, in collaboration with the African Union Commission, and were further enriched by inputs from experts during a validation expert group meeting organized in Libreville in March 2019. The issues discussed thus far need to be examined in more detail and in an integrated manner the make AfCFTA a reality. In this regard, the development of AfCFTA national strategies by the State Parties to the Agreement is important to support the effective implementation of the Agreement.
