In this chapter we are going to examine the impact of Colonial policy on Industrial development in Nigeria . Attempt will also be made to describe the little industrialization that existed during this period.
Industrialization was virtually non-existent is the Colonial period. The modern manufacturing sector hardly played any role the nations economic developments before 1946 . The manufacturing establishments that existed during this period were connected with the Association of agricultural products. For example, the British Cotton Growers Association in 1907 established three cotton industries in the country.
