This paper is concerned with an examination of the transport problem in Africa in regard to sub-regional integration. It is outlined as follows Section I examines the problem. Section II analyses the historical factors affecting the pattern of transport development and economic interrelationships and unity within the continent. Section II indicates ways in which economic unity can contribute to solving the transport problem in Africa.
