Abstract
Official preparations, for the United Nation Conference on Science and Technology for Development (UNCSTD), scheduled to take place in August/September 1979 in Vienna, are taking place on a wide scale. They involve discussions and meetings at national, sub regional and regional levels and draw upon the expertise of governments, intergovernmental and nongovernmental organisations, while particularly at the national basis the widest possible involvement is sought for a broad range of industrial and cultural groups and from scientific and technological communities.
