Abstract

Harmonization of efforts to promote co-operation among national airlines prior to the creation of multinational airlines (co-ordination of flight schedules, pooling of routes and commercial services and sharing of navigation and meteorology facilities) at its Meeting of the Technical Committee on Transport and Communications of the PTA for Eastern and Southern African States Lusaka, Zambia 1 to5 November 1982. As a result of the Conference, a recommendation was made to the effect that a study should be undertaken on the creation of a Pan-African airline. A study will be carried out in the coming months on the creation of such an airline. OAU has already submitted the project to UNOP which has agreed to finance it.
