The conference on the problem and prospects of the leas developed African countries which was convened in collaboration with UNCTAD was opened at ECA headquarters in Addis Ababa by Mr.Adbayo Adedeji executive secretary at ECA the conference elected Mrs.A.Jamal(United Republic of Tanzania)chairman Mr.Albert Mugange (Burundi) and Mr.Ibrahim Ali Ibrahim (the Sudan )as first second vice chairmen respectively. Mr.Mersie Ijigu(Ethiopia)was elected rapporteur.
