As already indicated in our earlier submission Zambia has implemented a large number of measures recommended by both APPER and UN-PAAERD. However ,judging by the 1986 performance of the economy economic recovery has eluded us as only the agricultural and construction sectors registered growth of more than 5 percent. The other productive sector i.e., mining and quarrying as well as manufacturing performed poorly having achieved negative 6.2 percent and 0.4 percent respectively.
