Economic and social planning in Morocco

Abstract

This study focuses on the economic and social planning processes in Morocco, with particular emphasis on the methods employed in the preparation of the first Moroccan Five-Year Plan (1960-1964). The planning process is described as a complex and ongoing operation that was not fully completed at the time of writing. The memorandum highlights the absence of a rigid system in the planning process, instead emphasizing the adaptation of various methods to Morocco's specific conditions. It also underscores the iterative nature of the planning stages, noting that adjustments can be made even after the Plan is finalized. This approach reflects the dynamic and flexible nature of economic and social planning in Morocco during this period.
