Reorganization, structure and functions of the Secretariat of the Economic Commission for Africa (the Second Development Decade, 1970-1980)

Abstract

At the ninth session and tenth anniversary of the economic commission for Africa member states reviewed the achievements of United Nations efforts in the African region during the first development decade and there was general consensus that these achievements fell far short of the expectations of member states in order to improve and strengthen the institutional machinery of the commission as well as its secretariat with a view to achieving more concrete results in the transformation of the economies of African stated during the second development.
